It has become apparent that three dimensional culture systems more accurately mimic how cells act in vivo. In this issue of Cancer Biology & Therapy, Vertrees and colleagues describe a new three dimensional culture model for lung cancer. The scanning EM on this month’s cover shows a lung cell that was grown under normal culture conditions.
