Overexpression of Endostatin in MDA-MB-435 breast cancer cells in a study by Nira Ben-Jonathan and colleagues resulted in marked reduction in tumor growth associated with a higher apoptotic index and reduced vascularity. Immunostaining for von Willebrand factor (brown color) was reduced in the tumor shown due to endostatin secretion.
